Road Warrior

Hey there ho there! Hoping everyone is doing well and welcome to Silk + Raven's (S+R) very first blog post! So let's talk about roadtrips...I grew up in Chicago, IL with a mother who was absolutely TERRIFIED of flying. That being said, I've become very familiar with the ways of the road. Our family's Lincoln Navigator definitely had my nice ol' ass imprint in the back seat by the time I left for college.

Well this past week (August 17-23) I, alongside my hot ass boyfriend who you will see on here soon enough, hit the ground running and decided to drive from Nashville to LA via Denver. Needless to say, the trip was absolutely incredible. I had never been to Denver and had no idea what to expect...I mean, they have mountains and they have weed...that's it, right? WRONG. Good God is Denver amazing. If you haven't made a trip out there, make it a priority. Downtown Denver is badass (if you go you HAVE to get Voodoo Donuts), Boulder has the coolest stores and restaurants and people to look at, The Mountains are obviously breathtaking, and Red Rocks is THE coolest music venue I have EVER seen.

We left Denver and headed westward on to LA via Vegas. Damn was that a trip. Posted up for a night in some town called Beaver, UT (absolutely nothing to do there, imagine that) and stopped in Primm, Nevada aka Vegas's ugly step-sister. All for the experience though, we laughed and found every geofilter snapchat had to offer along the way.

Finally making it to LA, the two of us did the Hollywood + Beverly Hills thing. We drove all around Melrose (making stops at NastyGal and High Voltage Tattoo), stopped for an In-N-Out (protein style is the BOMB), and slept hard at The Westin by LAX. LA was a quick little trip for me, though. I ended up leaving 24 hours after arriving on a flight back to Nash Vegas without Nathan, aka my hot ass boyfriend (lucky guy gets to study there and work with Scooter Braun until December).

All in all the trip was mind-blowing and I already miss the boy like crazy (elww feelings and vulnerability, gross). But it's all good because now I get to spend all my alone time with my computer, telling you guys stories and sharing whatever is on my mind.

Let's get to the outfit though...Today I'm posting a few of my FAVORITE pieces. The Vest is J Brand (Bought at Nordstrom, find it here) Skirt is Leith (Bought at Nordstrom, find it here) Tank is Athleta (find it here) Shoes are Joie (Bought at Nordstrom, find it here). Any other questions about anything featured feel free to leave me a comment or a message!

All the Best,

Morgan xoxo S+R
