NYFW DIARY: Day 1 at John Paul Ataker
So Day 1 at fashion week, what an experience!
To start, it was about 20 degrees which made outfitting myself in something appropriate to both walk around in as well as to attend shows in VERY difficult. So I went with my new Donald J Pliner booties in gray, leather pants from Blank NYC, a Helmut Lang cashmere dress, and TopShop bomber to keep me toasty.
My first show was John Paul Ataker held at Pier 59 Studios in Chelsea. I arrived 15 minutes early to the show and was met by a line that wrapped around the inside of the building with no less than 250 people. After a mild panic attack (I can’t miss my first NYFW show!!) a woman working with JPA assured us we would all make it inside the venue even if it meant the show starting late.
After we all finally made it into the venue I found my seat in the front row in front of Lennon and Maisey (always happy to see a little Nashville wherever I’m traveling) and the show began. I picked my six favorite looks from the show and had to laugh at myself, wow Morgan...five 'all black' and one 'all white' of course, but I truly loved how versatile these pieces were. The white jumper is an evening party essential, the black tops with cascading 'tails' are simple yet SUCH statement pieces, and the tailored black pants were sleek and tailored to perfection.
Overall, I was a fan of JPA's collection and would absolutely wear the pieces I've posted pictures of. For more info on his line, and to WATCH THE SHOW YOURSELF visit his website.
Oh hey...and if you watch the show, you can see me in the front row on the right side of the runway entrance!
All the best, loves! Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have about the show or NYFW in general.
