Jumpin' on the Denim Trend

So here we are, it's FINALLY getting warmer out and needless to say, I'm thrilled! Taking advantage of the warmer weather, I wanted to look at the denim on denim trend that's popping up. I adore a raw edge denim so when I saw this little two piece I jumped!

Normally, I don't look so hot in a pair of high waisted wide leg cut offs, but for some reason the pairing of the pants and the structured crop seemed to work on me! So here's my lesson of the day, when in doubt TRY IT ON. If I had a penny for every time I told a client or an artist to "just try it on", I would be a very rich woman. Just because you have a preconceived notion of what works and what doesn't work on your body doesn't mean you should box yourself in a corner and inhibit yourself from trying on different shapes!

Now I decided to go alittle 70s with mine and threw on a pair of platform sandals + metallic bomber jacket. I got my set from Target (yeah I know, holy cow right?!) and have been thinking about bleaching and distressing it. Knowing me, I would probably wear the pants a little more if I distressed them a bit. Regardless, I can't wait to pair this set with my Adidas superstars for a quick and easy "all around town" look.
