I’ve been spending a lot of time talking about clothing rental services (still think they’re absolutely brilliant), but understand there’s a lot of concern with them right now. I’ve felt concerned too! That said, I thought I would pass along an update from Nuuly explaining the process they’re undergoing to stop the spread of COVID-19 through clothing.

It’s a tricky situation but remember there’s NO shame in putting your rentals on pause or cancelling your subscription during this time! Do what’s best for you and your situation always.

We take the process of caring for the clothing we rent to you extremely seriously. 

In light of the news coverage around COVID-19, we want to make sure you're aware of the precautions we take to make sure our products are always clean, free of germs and safe for the next consumer to use. 

Since Day 1, we have had strict processes in place for cleaning, sanitizing and handling the clothing you rent from us. During both the receiving and packing processes, our employees are protected with gloves and our distribution center is fully stocked with hand sanitizing stations. 

To eliminate dirt and bacteria from garments, we use both wet and dry cleaning methods, in addition to a 250-degree steam tunnel. All Nuuly bags are also cleaned and sanitized between uses. 

Your safety and the safety of our team is always our top priority. We are continuing to monitor briefings from the CDC and the WHO and will update our practices as recommended.
